Being able to find top talent is a very important responsibility that all employers share. Those that are looking for new employees will need to be able to come up with an objective way to assess each job applicant. One great way to do this today is by providing personality tests that can be used to determine whether or not an applicant will succeed in a given role. It does this by asking up to 100 different questions that aim to decipher between a few different overall traits. Where someone fits into one of these traits, and to what degree they share the traits, will influence which category bucket they fall into.
3. The DiSC Behavior Inventory
For organizations that are looking for a quick snapshot for a personality test, The DiSC Behavior Inventory could be a great option. While many of the other top personality tests used today have 100+ questions, The DiSC Behavior Inventory is much easier on the user as versions of it have as little as 20 questions. While the question length is much shorter, The DiSC Behavior Inventory is still extremely effective as a predictive index and it is used by many organizations to determine whether a candidate is right for a given open position.
4. Keirsey Temperament Sorter
The Keirsey Temperament Sorter is a longer test that is used by many employers today. The test has a total of 71 different questions that people ask with the aim to categorize people into four different personality buckets. The test will be used by an employer to determine not only whether someone could do well in a job, but also if they will mesh well with existing personalities in the organization.
5. Self-Directed Search
While many of the top career assessment tools are used by employers to create a predictive index about whether an individual will succeed in a given role, these tests can also be used by individuals to find a new career. One career test that is quickly becoming very popular with people all over the world is Self-Directed Search. This test will ask you a series of questions that can be answered to provide someone with a list of suggested careers. The questions will test personality as well as interests and aspirations.
